TOPPS Match Attax Cards were released in autumn 2007 as THE official trading card set for the Barclays Premier League for the 07/08 season, taking over from Shoot Out cards. This highly desirable set features all 20 clubs from the Barclays Premier League Each team set consists of 16 Standard Player cards, 2 x Star Players cards and 3 Man of The Match cards. Additional Limited Edition cards have been made available through various other sources including newspapers, magazines and Collectable Tins.
Match Attax EXTRA, is an additional set of cards that contains players transferred and bought during the Premier League January transfer window. Included in this set are a new Starter Pack more Man Of The Match cards, Player Of The Month cards, Club Captain cards, Hat Trick Heroes & 4 New Limited Edition cards.

MAGIC BOX INT Ltd introduced Shoot Out Trading cards during the Barclays Premier League 2003/04 season. This series began a revival of football trading cards in the UK. All 20 Premier League teams were represented and each team set had 18 players. The Starter Pack contained cardboard pitch in addition to the Collector Binder for storing the collection.
Shoot Out cards were also released for seasons 04/05 05/06 and 06/07 during which time they grew amazingly in popularity and also saw a few changes, particularly for the 05/06 and 06/07 seasons.
The 05/06 collection incorporated a set of 8 SHINY foil cards which denoted players of special ability and were highly desirable in their own right. Also the 05/06 collection saw the introduction of a set of 60 Player Update cards which contained players bought or transferred during the Premier League January transfer window.
The 06/07 collection also incorporated a set of 12 SHINY foil cards in addition to a new introduction of 2 extra MATTE foil cards for each of the 20 league teams. Once again the collection featured a set of Player Update cards, 72 this time. and also an additional Collector Binder for storing these extra cards.
